Stockport is a town which has delightfully preserved much of it's natural beauty, while still progressing into modern times. With about half of it's area being used for Parks, trails and walking paths, I'm sure that you can imagine Stockport's unspoiled charm.
With more than two hundred historic buildings, Stockport has much to offer in architectural delight. One such building that must not be missed is "Bramall hall". This is a beautiful old timber framed estate offering guided tours of it's great hall, servant's quarters, Victorian kitchen and so much more. Do not forget to spend some time in the park and visit the lovely gardens.
Stockport has many shops, cafes and eating establishments. One such shopping centre actually being housed inside of what was formerly the magistrate court house.
Stockport is a virtual playground of things to see and do. From museums, including the history museum to guided walking tours and the "Robinson's brewery" tour.
If you want to give the kids a rest from touring, check out where the locals take their children. "Run of the mill children's play centre" is located conveniently in Stockport, and offers the chance to play in their indoor play area. They also have special events and movement classes, as well as many healthy meal choices and snacks in their restaurant.
In Stockport you can see original streets of cobble stone, as well as their market place which has been operating for about seven hundred years. Here you can find just about anything.
"Chester zoo" is quite nearby Stockport and is one of the biggest, best zoos in all of the United Kingdom. With almost eight thousand animals and beautiful gardens, this would make a nice trip for kids and adults alike.
